Consumer Credit Report, may 2022

The latest installment of our Consumer Credit Performance Report is now available. Below are some quick insights:

  • Consumer Unsecured

: Due to some originators not classifying loans that are 1-29 days behind payment as delinquent, dv01’s impairment analysis will focus on 30+ impairments. As such, past commentary on impairments is not comparable to this report. With this in mind, impairments have risen above seasonal-adjusted trends over the past three months, increasing 36 bps MoM (page 6).

  • Non-QM: Impairments fell 9 bps MoM to 4.4%, reversing some of April’s increase (page 18).

  • CRT: New Impairments rose 8 bps MoM to a six-month high (page 24).

  • Subprime Auto : Impairments rose 140 bps, largely attributed to cure rates falling to all-time lows (page 28).
